The Palm Springs Fine Art Fair will open its fifth edition on February 12, 2016. As in previous years, PSFAF coincides with Modernism Week and a Presidential visit to Sunnylands, making the Coachella Valley a hot ticket for the holiday weekend. More than 14,000 visitors are expected for the West Coast’s best art fair, which continues through February 14.
Post-Basel in Miami
The 14th edition of Art Basel in Miami Beach closed on December 6 and the fair was as stupendous as ever. 267 galleries from 32 countries attracted 77,000 visitors to the convention center, and more than 20 satellite art fairs expanded Miami Art Week beyond South Beach into downtown, Wynwood, and the Design District.

The weather was characteristically perfect in LA and the satellite edition of the Paris fair now seems quite established. News feeds on both coasts were full of Paris Photo Los Angeles for an entire week before early Instagrams began to appear from the Venice Biennale.

Paris Photo Los Angeles returns to Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood from May 1 to 3. In its third edition this year, Paris Photo LA includes 70 galleries with works by 265 artists. Exhibitors come from 17 countries and also include 9 publishers and specialized art book dealers.
TEFAF Maastricht
About 400 private jets left from the Maastricht Aachen Airport this week after the close of The European Fine Art Fair, TEFAF Maastricht, which held its 28th edition from March 13 to March 22. With some 200 fairs and 100 biennials packed into the global art world calendar, TEFAF is established as the most prestigious of them all.
Art Basel Hong Kong
Art Basel Hong Kong concluded its third edition this week with impressive sales reports. The fair was launched in 2013 as a satellite to Art Basel, the 45-year old fair in Switzerland that is the most significant annual event in the contemporary art world, and Art Basel in Miami Beach, which was launched in 2002.

In its fourth edition this year, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair is already as large as Art Los Angeles Contemporary and seems ready to surpass the longer running LA Art Show as the premier West Coast art fair.
